Hottest gigs of the week (21/08/18)

Hottest Gigs
GIG Blushes

It’s that time of the week again, folks. This week we’ve got some absolute hidden gems and a couple of massive names tucked away in our #HottestGig list. Find out exactly where you need to be, and who you need to see!

Hippo Campus

Omeara, London

Thursday 23rd of August

Another one that’s been on our radar for quite some time is Hippo Campus. This Minnesota quartet always causes quite the stir, and I doubt their appearance at Omera will be any different.

Where to find tickets:

Post Rome

The Head Of Steam, Newcastle Upon Tyne

Friday 24th of August

Another little gem of a new discovery gracing this week’s Hottest Gigs list is the unsigned indie/ alternative band Post Rome. Hailing from the far-off reaches of Sunderland, and bringing hits like Tides, G.O.D. and the obvious Six Feet, one thing is for sure, if they continue at the rate they’re going, they won’t remain unsigned for long.

Where to find tickets:

The Underground, Stoke-on-Trent

Saturday 25th of August

It’s been a while since I last saw these guys, but from experience I know that they can put on an exceptional show. We’ve worked beside the lads before with ICM TV.

Where to find tickets:

The Wombats

Zebedee’s Yard, Hull

Sunday 26 August

Known for their list of non-stop singalong hits, The wombats are always a sure fire bet for a great show. They never fail to get the crowd jumping with bounce along tracks like ‘Moving to New York’, and the obvious choice of ‘Let’s dance to joy division’. From past experience, you won’t be able to walk away from their live show without a beaming smile on your face.

Where to find tickets:

Blonde Redhead

Islington Assembly Hall

Monday 27th of August

If you’re familiar with Rick and Morty, then chances are you might have already heard of Blonde Redhead.

The bands eerily haunting track ‘For the Damaged Coda’ was featured in season one episode ten, ‘Close Rick-counters of the Rick kind’ (During the reveal of Evil Morty) and was revisited during his return in season three episode seven, ‘The Ricklantis mix up’.

If you’re not a fan of Rick and Morty then don’t worry as Blonde Redhead have a catalogue of dream pop/electric/indie rock depending on their musical era dating back from 1993 to present. Truly something for everyone.
