Harlequin Gold

Canadian sisters Elle and Avery O’Brien release new single ‘Take Me Home’ under Harlequin Gold ahead of an EP in the summer.

The Vancouver-based duo came together when family tragedy struck – a serious dirt biking accident that left their brother in a coma. here were months of uncertainty, but finally the news came through that their brother would survive and make a full recovery.

Their shared fear and pain had shaken their world and left them unsure where to go next, but it also brought them closer together. It was during this time of reflection and introspection that Elle and Avery decided to pursue their passion for music together as Harlequin Gold.

Son in 2018 they released their debut single ‘Without You Now’, quickly picking up some serious Spotify attention. The new cut ‘Take Me Home’ is their strongest release to date, developing a unique sound that blends their two voices together as if they were one. Taking influences from bands such as First Aid Kit, Maggie Rogers, and Half moon run Harlequin Gold is a mixture of indie and folk music.

Today the O’Brien Sisters can barely remember their initial decision to collaborate – it feels to them like they’ve always played together. With an ever-growing collection of heartfelt songs and a reputation for crushing live shows, Harlequin Gold is just getting started.
