Throughout the year we strive to discover new emerging talent within the music industry. With a mini-music revolution taking part, bands are constantly forming up and down the country with new and innovative ideas and takes on the current music norms. With 2016 drawing to a close we are going to be nominating 10 bands who we feel are our greatest discoveries.

The Edinburgh-based Indigo Velvet came on to our radar this year when they released their summery vided track ‘Sunrise’.

Darren Barclay – Vocals/Guitar, Jason Tucker – Vocals/Guitar, Billy McMahon – Drums and Laurie Adam – Bass Guitar have been playing music for two years now, with a string of singles released.

Their trademark summery Indigo Velvet sound with its radiant guitar licks, bouncy rhythms and weightless vocals has blended perfectly. They have embraced all the elements of the tropical indie pop that the band have turned it into their own. To me, Danny’s voice has a similar resemblance to that of Young The Giant.

I’m sure in 2017 the band have got some tricks up their sleeves, maybe an EP or album.

The winner from each category will be announced on 30th December. Watch their new tour video below.
