Glass Peaks released their debut EP It's Raining On The Wrong Side of The Window

Glass Peaks have released their debut EP ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side of The Window’ which showcases an eclectic range of musical genres with their own unique slant.

Since their first release in 2016, the Kent-based trio have made great strides as musicians and as people. The debut EP is a true sign of how far they’ve progressed through their alt rock and synth influences.

Kicking off with the fiery ‘São Paulo’, it attempts to navigate through the rollercoaster of emotions of a failed relationship. Whether it was funny, tragic, cringe-worthy or otherwise, it’s for “guys and girls who need to get out of there quickly”.

Inspired by an intense date vocalist Alfie Jefferies went on with a girl from Brazil, he said: “I went on a date with a Brazilian girl from São Paulo, she was pretty fascinating and told me beautiful stories about wild parties in her hometown and all about her extravagant friends from home.

“I only ever saw her once and this song is about how badly I think the relationship would have gone if we’d have stayed together and tried to make a thing of it.”

First single from the release, ‘Never Really Left’ was a post-grunge anthem tackling the toxicity of social media and then went to the other side of the music spectrum for current single ‘London Is Concrete’. The track is eloquently ambient with Alfie Jefferies haunting vocals processing slowly over a subtle background of drum machine beats and echoing vocals.

The EP closes on title track ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side of The Window’ – its beautiful acoustics grow into a cinematic ending. The Black Mirror inspired song captures that moment of hearing about someone you love, leaving you forever – bringing the debut EP to a climactic close.

“We’ve treated it almost like an album,” said Alfie. “A lot of care and attention to detail has gone into how the EP plays from the intro to the final track; we want it to be an experience that takes the listener on a journey.

“For us, it’s more than just a few tracks bundled together, and we hope our fans see it in the same way.”

There’s a different style in every song that encompasses the ‘Glass Peaks sound’ filled with energy and heart. The band have certainly put them out there as one of the top creative bands to come out of the emerging London scene with this debut EP. Visit their website here.
