Back to where it all started – Glasgow’s finest Franz Ferdinand set to return to Scotland for what is already bound to be one of the biggest shows of 2017.
The post-punk phenomena’s are booked to headline the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival along with the likes of KT Tunstall and Sister Sledge.
It’s to be their first time playing the festival, but after a legendary performance at Kinross Festival in 2006, Their surprise 2008 set at Glastonbury and more recently, the band’s performance at Best Kept Secret in 2014; the boys have proven themselves more than capable of absolutely igniting festival crowds.
This will be Franz Ferdinand’s first performance after the departure of previous guitarist – Nick McCarthy – earlier this year. Despite the loss of such a valued member, the band clearly still have a firm hold of spark that was the driving force behind their most noteworthy tracks, such as ‘Take me out’ and ‘No you girls’ . October saw the release of controversially brilliant new song ‘Demagogue’, a political statement against the 45th president of the United States; Donald trump.
With Franz Ferdinand already working on new material, and in light of their incredible festival performances in the past headline their show at Belladrum next year is set to be insane, and hopefully the first of many more announcements to come.
