It came as a bit of a shock when Foo Fighters just pop a new track up out of nowhere going back into their rock traditions.
‘Run’ is accompanied by a music video, directed by Dave Grohl, where the band are seen dressed as elderly men playing to a crowd of old people in a church. You even get to see one of them jump off the organ onto a bunch of nurses on the band’s soaring rock chorus.
As Foo Fighters, surprise-released ‘Run’ is a monolithic song of the summer shoo-in as melodic as it is monstrously heavy, we can expect more undiluted American stadium rock in some of their newer material still to come. Should be a great site to watch at Glastonbury.
