Flashfires have a killer knack for catchy guitar-driven alt rock
Four-piece alt rockers Flashfires have shared their self-titled debut EP which is set to make waves through the scene.
Based in London, the new band seem to have a killer knack for catchy guitar-driven rock and it’s already received huge radio success from BBC Introducing and Kerrang.
Their latest offering begins with a dark, moody verse before exploding into the kind of energetic chorus for which the band have become celebrated for. Hit-track ‘Cézanne’, Flashfires delivers another huge single that is sure to be an earworm for any rock fan.
Debut single ‘Circus Boy’ is the first track on the EP and it’s an explosive number with infectious melodies and super-strong vocals from frontman Alex Gonzato.
Working tirelessly alongside Alex are Fraser Roskilly (guitar, bass), Jonathan Cullis (rhythm guitar) and Toby Bartlett – (drums, piano) as their Bowie-esque ballad ‘Champagne on Mars’ and final track ‘Life’s Cruel’ brings out Flashfires’ softer side; highlighting the quality of their songwriting capabilities.
‘31’ is bold, brash and unafraid to throw their weight about, Flashfires are a band on the brink of blowing up. This EP could very easily be the sound of them doing exactly that. With their ear for infectious melodies and energetic live performances, this young band are winning over fans up and down the UK.
