The Oxford indie rockers join the FIFA 17 soundtrack with their piece Youth, taken from their incredible second album How To Be A Human Being released in August of this year. Lead singer Dave Bayley previously explained that Youth was inspired by snippets of conversations he overheard, and yet it is perfectly crafted to create an enticing narrative. Accompanied by an equally theatrical video, Youth clearly continues Glass Animals lust for storytelling and drama and has led to many fan theories and conspiracies cropping up online. A complex blend of melodies and sounds creates a truly unique sound but does not become too dissimilar to the classic Glass Animals vibes that fans have discovered and loved.
Glass Animals have appeared on some of the most prestigious stages in the world including Coachella, Reading/Leeds and Glastonbury whilst selling out shows both in the UK and America. Youth also manages to encapsulate the sing-along groovy beat that all FIFA songs feature, yet sounds unique to the usual style of songs featured. Youth manages to sound nostalgic whilst conjuring up conflicting emotions of both joy and sadness with Bayley’s haunting, echoing voice.
Glass Animals are currently touring across the US with UK and Europe dates later in the year.
