Underground Festival kicked off over the weekend and we’re are giving an exclusive look into how the great indie bands performed.
WHITE
One of my favourite Glaswegian bands this year has to be WHITE. After seeing them perform at last year’s Hogmanay in Edinburgh I knew they were going to have an incredible year. The 5-peice have been performing all over the country within the past 9 months and last weekend saw them take the stage at Underground Festival in Gloucester. A truly unique sound comes out of the speakers when WHITE perform. Electrifying and Intensity come to mind. There music is like a huge slap in the face, but the way it hits you is great. It gets the blood flowing. From echoing vocals and certain songs being completely uplifted by a single instrument really gives this talented band the edge when performing. For me WHITE we are a true highlight at the festival and are definitely ones to watch out for coming out of this boom in Glaswegian music.
The Hunna
1-Hunna! The Hunna squad turned out for the newly tipped indie band at Underground festival of the weekend. It was incredible to see the energy hit the crowd. Ryan and the guys didn’t disappoint playing all the lead tracks off of their latest debut album ‘100’. With huge sounds bellowing through the venue, no matter where you were stood, The Hunna were making sure you could hear them. And with such confidence like that you know these boys will make it far.
Fatherson
Another Glaswegian band that took to the stage at Underground Festival were Fatherson. A 4-piece that brought the craziness of The Hunna into a collected harmonious set consisting of empowering vocals with the tranquility of well timed music. After following Fatherson for a long time it was brilliant to actually see them live in performance. I got the sense that not many people in the crowd knew their songs yet this didn’t stop the band or the crowd from enjoying themselves.
