Exclusive Gig: Joe Jury Single Launch

It’s not every day the likes of myself and Mr Pearson get invited to a lady’s flat, regardless if it’s work related or not. We managed to can ourselves an invite to the lovely Cannelle’s flat for a one off intimate single launch.

Having only had a small taste of what singer/songwriter Joe Jury had to offer, we were excited to see a more stripped back and honest interpretation of his music in person. Joe didn’t disappoint. We were treated to heartfelt stories of addiction, heartache and loneliness which resonated across the whole room.

More importantly, we had the opportunity to check out his brand new single ‘Love Somebody’. The track itself is a pop-tastic indie classico with an infectious 80’s fun chorus and a beat that’ll definitely get them thunder-thighs jiggling. Definitely one to look out for if you’re a fan of The 1975, Declan McKenna and Passenger (minus the country vibes). The song itself actually features Joe’s first ever saxophone solo which was apparently fueled solely by Avo-Toasties from the next door cafe.

I think this gig will forever hold a really special place in my mind. The cute lighting lit only with candles, the sound of the rain hammering outside, the slight breeze of London town cooling off a crammed living room and the loveliest company. It was quite special.

Check out the new single in our Ultimate Indie and Alternative Playlist exclusively on Spotify and SoundCloud!
