Dizmation creates melody-driven alt rock with pop sensibilities

Solo artist Dizmation has released his new single ‘Still’ ahead of his debut album coming next month.

Based in Dublin, the Irishman creates melody-driven tunes with heavy guitar riffs and pop sensibilities with dark undertones, yet optimistic lyrics.

‘Still’ takes a look at the highs and lows of your journey to ‘find yourself’ as they say. The song is about realising that it is actually these highs and lows that make the search to learn more about yourself is what makes it all the worthwhile.

The track kicks off with rich, gritty guitars and a dark shoegaze sheen over the top. Layered synths and its driving bass line give you that sense of that you will find your path.

Dizmation’s vocal presence is quite chilled out and relaxed whilst all the instrumentals do the talking.

Alongside the release is a music video which was filmed during lockdown. Limited to a front and back garden of a house and the local park, Dizmation and his filming partner have perfectly transferred how the song sounds to what it should look like.

WIth DIzmation dressed in all black with a hood over his head like something out of Assassin’s Creed and a black umbrella, he eventually finds love as a woman appears.

Dizmation said of the track “It uses its limitations to its advantage and explores the beauty in darkness and the notion of recognising and exercising the ‘Shadow-self’ through Art and Music with a lighthearted feel.”
