Discover: Secret Cameras – Going Places

Secret Cameras are an exciting new band from London, with a unique sound and an impressive list of achievements for a band still in their early days; Secret Cameras are definitely going places.

Speaking of going places, that’s the title Secret Cameras have given their latest single. Going Places is a synth paradise, evident from the opening yet its blended with an intriguing mix of indie rock that gradually becomes more prevalent throughout. Undoubtedly it’s an entrancing debut, and just enough of a tease to get you hooked on Secret Cameras and pumped for their second single, It Doesn’t Matter on the 2nd January (coming just before their first EP to be released sometime in March). The heavily distorted vocals are an accompanied by both soft and heavy instrumentals, adding another dimension to the already complex track. A solid drum beat remains prominent, but occasionally upstaged by a guitar riff.

Secret Cameras have also attracted the attention of radio DJs, including the iconic BBC introducing (London) show and both RTE 2FM and RTE 2XM Irish stations. To accompany the track, the band also produced a music video which looks like it was as much fun to make as it is to watch, depicting various universal date disasters and stars the band themselves.
The band have definitely got an interesting future ahead, and if they keep creating tracks as inventive and unique as Going Places there’s no stopping them.
