Born and raised in Florida, alternative pop-rock artist myah is an expert storyteller with edgy beats and killer pop riffs.
Showcasing her alternative edge, new single ‘hurricane’ is the sixth release of 2024 from the rising star as the singer-songwriter has ramped up her catchy and melodic pop-rock.
Written because a friend told her to use the word hurricane, myah has utilised her songwriting craft to create an upbeat song with punchy commercial pop hooks and edgy vocals.
Dubbed the “Emo Taylor Swift”, myah is a specialist at making pop songs with emo angst. Previous single ‘I’ll be your light’ and ‘now or never’ also include some elements of her style and also isn’t afraid of letting her feelings be known.
Speaking about the single ‘hurricane’, myah said: “My friend told me I should write a song using the word, hurricane, so I did. I’m from Florida so the irony of making a love anthem about a hurricane during hurricane season is kind of my sense of dark humour.”
myah, the self-described cinematic romantic, takes influence Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, Sylvan Esso, and Twenty-One Pilots. Her love for alternative music is clear and we absolutely love it. Her songwriting craft has an everlasting impact and is quickly being recognised for it – keep your eyes peeled for more!
