Crystal Tides are back with soaring indie anthem ‘Headcase’

Crystal Tides have returned with yet another alt-indie bop ‘Headcase’.

“Why you gotta go and get stuck in my head like that?” open the song and the track itself instantly does that thanks to their trademark feel-good melodies.

The Portsmouth quartet smashed it out the park last year with ‘Ex’, ‘Monday’ and ‘Courtney Love’ with the later being by far their best single yet.

‘Headcase’ is up there in close contention. The soaring chorus is uplifting to the skies and Billy Gregory’s powerful vocal presence sends shivers down your spine. Not forgetting those big-room guitar hooks which make the song radio-ready.

The track is an upbeat modern indie-pop anthem straight out of the top drawer, although the track has a deeper meaning.

Speaking of the inspiration behind it, the band commented: “‘Headcase’ is about being led on by a person who is obviously using you which causes you to go a little bit insane.

“The emotions you deal with alongside the mental battle inside your own head because you can’t figure out why you can’t stop thinking about that one person despite the fact they’re just playing with your head.

“You know it’s wrong but you think somehow you can make it work.”

‘Headcase’ is out now across all digital platforms via Singing Light Music.
