Chicago’s Koalra announce third album with 90s fuzz-fuelled anthem ‘Water’s Push’

Chicago quartet Koalra have just revealed a third studio album ‘Into the Everything’ is forthcoming following the release of new single ‘Water’s Push’.

The grotty and fuzz-fuelled alt rock band took their city by storm last year with the sophomore album The Wakes, EP Suprise Lights and lead single ‘Tell Me I’m Not’

Now Koalra aren’t letting a pandemic get in their way as they continue to make alt rock anthems. ‘Water’s Push’ is a 90s rock n roll romp of underground nostalgia. It’s quick energy guitars, rampant drums and washed out bass lines give the track a menacing kick.

Speaking about the track, the band said: “‘Water’s Push’ is a song about pushing against and stabling life’s natural momentum because anxieties or some other unseen force that makes us scared to move forward.

“The song along with the upcoming album Into the Everything was conceived, written, and mostly recorded in a motorhome while traveling around the USA on public lands and in national forests.”

In such a short period of time – under three years – the band have amassed a huge catalogue of punk noise, alt rock songs. Koalra are even committed to ever-changing their sound as they say they hope to release two more albums and an EP in 2021. I just hope they have enough time to fit all of that in!

The third studio album ‘Into the Everything’ is coming in 2021 on Gigantic Noise Records. Watch the music video for ‘Water’s Push below.
