Being a UK website, it would be very easy to miss such talent that is only a plane away. But due to the dedication we want to highlight the significance that international music makes to the industry as a whole. It’s very likely that bands will often make an impact into other countries and create a following across all parts of the globe. Here’s a band that we would love to come to the UK sometime.
Grouplove, an American indie-rock band composed of Hannah Hooper (vocals and keyboard), Christian Zucconi (vocals and guitar), Sean Gadd (bass), Andrew Wessen (guitar) and Ryan Rabin (drums).
Grouplove released a stellar 3rd album, ‘Big Mess’ in late 2016 after releasing ‘Never Trust a Happy Song’ in 2011 and ‘Spreading Rumours’ in 2013. The band have roughly 2.4 million monthly listeners and ‘Welcome to My Life’ has just reached 9 million plays.
Their music ranges from songs featuring heavy-hitting drums such as ‘Traumatised’ to more techno-pop tunes such as ‘Tongue Tied’, making them a band who can create music which pleases a variety of music tastes and this has caused Grouplove to become a popular name in the international indie scene.
The ICMAwards will be announced on Friday 30th December. Stay tuned for more nominations.
