Benjamino shares eclectic debut EP ‘Open Up The Vault’

Australia’s rising indie pop multi-instrumentalist Benjamino has released his exciting debut EP ‘Open Up The Vault’.

Based in Wollongong, New South Wales, the soulful indie singer-songwriter brought 2020 to a close with the five-track extended play featuring the hit single ‘Clutching At Shadows’.

Open Up The Vault demonstrates Benjamino’s skills as a songwriter, containing a wide range of themes such as resilience in the face of adversity, unrequited friendship and even a fictional story based in Northern Italy.

The lead single, ‘Clutching at Shadows’ (and one of our personal favourites) is a powerful anthem with swooping instrumentals and smooth vocals from Ben Cauduro. It’s a head-bopping, foot-stomping track that instantly captures your attention.

‘Statues in Torino’ brings the tone down, but the seven-piece behind Benjamino brings the funky rhythms and warm vocals to life. ‘Turn The Wheel’ on the other hand features brash drumming patterns and deeper vocals from Ben with echoing reverb.

‘Paradise Is Here’ is the chilled out summer anthem we all need right now – those jazz influences with piano ballads make for the perfect ambience.

Final track ‘Patience’ demonstrates Benjamino’s full potential and provided his growing fanbase with an insight into his debut EP.

The Australian singer-songwriter produces an unmissable eclectic mix of soul, funk and indie pop that’s catchy as hell. Open Up The Vault quite literally opens up into the mind of Cauduro and his mix of influences.

With his debut EP already under his belt, Benjamino is quickly becoming one the most exciting new indie artists on the rise.
