Bedroom/Boredom – CloseUp Artist Spotlight
Bedroom / Boredom are the latest band to dominate the spotlight. The London indie/funk 6-piece have been making a name for themselves in the capital with their Foals/Little Comets inspired back catalogue; already selling out two previous London shows. They’re currently gearing up for another busy one at B Square Bar and Kitchen.
We’re sure you get this all the time, but how did your name come to fruition?
That is, and will always remain, up to you to decide…
You return to London to play for your biggest headline date so far in the capital at Hoxton SBK later this Month, what should we expect from it?
We have a few musical surprises up our sleeves, as well as some new homemade merch, but apart from that you can expect us to be our usual rambunctious, handsome selves. And of course we will be at the bar afterwards for anyone wanting to boo us in person.
Your tunes have been listened to by hundreds of thousands across the world as Spotify informs us, Spotify is now such a big player in the industry, how important do you think it is for emerging acts?
Yeah, Spotify is one of the biggest helps we’ve had so far. Their algorithms are mad and as a result we got on discover weekly with Pill pretty soon after its release and since then we’ve managed to expand our audience loads. I think it’s such an amazing platform for emerging artists as once you get your monthly stats up, they basically stay the same or increase. It’s like a musical tracker of how well you’re doing.

Toto, the Beegees and Ed Sheeran
