Beach Baby Perform Debut Album @ Scala, London

Beach Baby

‘Twas the 9th of September that I decided it would be a grand idea to travel to the venue known as Scala to watch one of my favourite bands, Beach Baby. With the current release of their debut album ‘No Mind No Money’, The London crowd was ecstatic and filled with excitement to hear the band perform their release in full at the renowned venue in the heart of Kings Cross.

cheap wedding veilIn a time where 80’s nostalgia is in it’s fullest thanks to the unbelievable Netflix show ‘Stranger Things’, melodic guitars, synths and keys are making a comeback with a full mullet and double denim to match. The horrendously dressed Beach Baby genuinely surprised me with their set. I had no clue that there were alternating lead singers? The mix of the low voicing richness and a common indie rock voice is a
spine tingling blend. It’s like the voices of Ian Curtis and a Southern Alex Turner making sweet love in your ear.

The band had such a stage presence. It’s an incredibly important feature to have in a band. You are after all performing to an audience. Beach Baby took a slightly cocky approach but not in a bad way. They were allowed to be cocky. They know how good they sound. Even their terrible banter on stage between each other oozed with confidence.

Beach Baby are to continue their long string of tour dates at the following venues:
