Bands To Look Out For

Sandara Karma
The British Berkshire quartet that have already played Reading at the mere age of 18 have been generating a huge amount of buzz via social media as their fresh faced alternative summer vibes have contributed to the recent uproar in excellent British music. The four lads who are currently on tour with Darlia have recently released their EP titled ‘EPI’ which features four tracks (including ‘Freshbloom’) has generated minor interest, which has been nothing less of a surprise seeing as they’re touring with some of Britain’s best indie/rock groups we have to offer at this time. Maybe it’s early days for the boys, but I expect that with age and a hell of a lot of experience, there’s no doubt in my mind they are destined for musical glory.

Spring King
Not much is known about the UK’s Spring King, other than that they’re really good. Like. Really good. I’ve never heard a band like this before. It’s the strangest jumble of everything and anything I’ve ever heard. Their upbeat and jolly summery riffs could be compared to The Vaccines, but they have the musical texture of Cold War Kids and the voice of a 90’s pop punk band. Seriously if you don’t believe me, listen to them. These guys aren’t even signed and I’m so excited to hear their album (which doesn’t have a date or any sort of confirmation that it’s in the works) currently playing at SXSW and gigging around the UK, Let’s hope these guys generate enough interest to get in the bloody studio!

Zerbin
Frontman Jason Zerbin formed the Canadian band in 2009, but their latest song ‘Worlds On Fire’ has gone unnoticed, and unfortunately so has the band. This also means that there is not much to say. But if you happen to live in Canada or the US, then you need to check out their slick guitar licks and his voice; which is actually pretty refreshing. The band will release a new full length album entitled Darling on April 14, 2015.

Hunny
With only one song officially released two months called ‘Cry For Me’, no wonder many people have been thinking who the hell are they? After some research we can tell you that they’re a six-piece indie rock band from California. According to their website, their sound is reminiscent of “80’s post-punk”. Vigorous and confident, “Cry For Me” is a very promising debut for this Californian act, so keep an eye and ear out for HUNNY. The track is a very organic feel that is great news for the electronic acts. Bands like theirs will be difficult to find elsewhere.
