All-new alluring alt pop band Bad Love have returned with their new single ‘Cashmere Tears’.
The Manchester trio’s concoction of ‘sad-boy pop’ is heartfelt and anthemic, which is also getting noticed.
Since forming last year, Bad Love wear their hearts on their sleeves and it shows in the music. ‘Cahsmere Tears’ is a story of star-crossed lovers; catching someone who used to dream big, convicted to the repetition of ‘sad-suburbia’ by a toxic relationship that somehow always pulls her back in.
‘Cashmere Tears’ turns an eye to the flaws in society; at the antiquated idea that women are homemakers and peacekeepers for A-typical masculinity; sticking around to mother men who ‘need them’
Frontman Andy Gannon describing single ‘Cashmere Tears’
Riddled deep in synths and pop atmospherics, the track is a melodramatic cut of 90s teen vogue. It’s Bad Love’s emotionally candid answer to British music.
Speaking about the single, frontman Andy Gannon said: ““For me, Cashmere Tears is a song about how the security of home can hold you back.
“It’s a story of a girl who’s been stuck for too long in something that’s never been good for her. About how if you want more out of life you need to go and get it before you lose your for it spark.
“The idea of missing out on life has always given me a huge anxiety, the thought of missing out on life scares the shit out of me.
“I can’t think of anything worse than waking up one day and wishing I’d done things I knew I should’ve.”
