Manchester outfit Bad Love are back with their new single ‘A Place For Me’ combining cinematic allure of new-romantic icons with heartfelt and anthemic pop-hooks.

By creating a sophisticated alt-pop sound with a ‘Sad-Boy’ twist, the quartet, comprised of Andy Gannon, Sam Fieldhouse, Tommy O’Neill and Ben Tansey, are all about 90s teen vogue.

Following up on ‘Hurricane’ and debut single ‘More Than Friends’, ‘A Place For Me’ is a story about finding a new love with someone with trust and commitment issues after having their heartbroken.

It explores the idea that whilst new love can be intoxicating and seductive; heartbreaks of the past can put walls up between people.

Effortlessly combining contemporary, synth-pop sounds with earnest, heartfelt lyrics, Bad Love create a hypnotic brand of pop music, as joyful as it is introspective.

Elevated further by charismatic frontman Andy, who’s yearning for sincerity and vulnerability, in a world that wants to be everything but, radiates throughout.

He added: “Everyone has been hurt before. Love is often tragedy and heartbreak isn’t like the movies.

“This song is about trying to move on and not carry your past with you. I’ve been on both sides, I’ve pushed people away and messed it all up because I wasn’t in the right place and I’ve been on the receiving end of someone else’s wrongs.

“Sometimes it’s about just not wanting to be seen through the lens of a previous love.”

Bad Love don’t shy away from being emotionally candid and have big dreams about making their mark on British music. Have a listen to the single below and leave an ICM Star Rating out of 10!
