AVNT GARDS release energetic single ‘Run And Hide’
Fresh onto the music scene is Leicester quartet AVNT GARDS packing a mighty punch of electrifying riffs and crashing drum beats.
Comprising of Cairen Dheensa (Guitar, Vocals), Rashik Aryal (Lead guitar), Alex Jarrett (Bass, Vocals) and Tom O’Callaghan (Drums, Vocals) the band have just released their debut single ‘Run and Hide’.
‘Run And Hide’ will almost certainly rekindle your lust for spine-tingling rhythms and enigmatic melodies as the track is upbeat and danceable. The vocals are soul shaking and natural as they glide blissfully over the energetic guitars and carefree drumming attitude.
Cairen Dheensa explained to us the meaning behind the single: “I am generally of the opinion that lyrics are subjective to the listener, yet it’s hard to avoid the underlying themes of a song.
“In one sense, Run & Hide confronts the degree of false promise confronted in the transition to adulthood.
“In another it tackles the quest for identity and the difficulties faced on the way to that, whether it be the shattering of previous ‘selves’ of the crafting of new paths.”
Rashik, Alex and Cairen initially formed the band at University as an outlet away from academia, jamming together frequently for nobody else’s pleasure but their own. Tom was the piece of the puzzle that was missing at first as the band drifted without a grounded rhythm.
‘Run And Hide’ has a feel like no other as Rashik explains: “My motivations for the track were largely musical.
“Growing up as a huge fan of riff-heavy artists like Page & Hendrix, my attention & focus was on wanting to deliver riffs and solos that had elements of these sounds, whilst simultaneously fitting the style of sound that we had been effortlessly delivering as a jamming band.
“Creating a simple tone through pedals was, for me, imperative to creating a distinctive tone.
“My ambition is to capture the attention of listeners from across the spectrum through the irresistible hook of a guitar melody.”
