This week’s artist spotlight is actually one of my favourite ever bands – RAIN. Swindon-based 4 piece RAIN first came to my attention when I accidentally came across them on Tumblr. Seeing them describe themselves as Shoegaze immediately got my attention so I listened to their track ‘Slur’ and immediately fell in love.
‘Slur’ is only one of many exciting tracks they’ve released. Having recently released their debut EP ‘Symphony Pains’ I felt it an appropriate time to write about the wonders of their music. If you like glimmery shoegaze then RAIN will be perfect for you.
As previously mentioned, my favourite track of theirs will always be ‘Slur’ for many reasons but especially the intensity that runs through the entire song. Closely followed is ‘Indigo In Blue’ due to the equal balance of a more rockier sound along with their renowned slower-dreamier vibes that also feature.
It’s my prediction that RAIN are definitely ones to watch, with little talent in the Shoegaze department at the moment, it’s refreshing to see a band that capture that style as well as including some heavier and rockier vibes into the music as well.
