This week’s discovery is a slightly different genre to usual, but one that’s just as brilliant. Introducing Gradient Echo, the electronic music project of Michael Fox.
I came across the Hull-based artist completely coincidentally on Soundcloud and was extremely intrigued to hear the music after seeing the title of the EP (Bipolar) and the tracks entitled ‘Extrovert’ and ‘Introvert’. The techno music was completely unique to anything I have heard before and that made it a very exciting listen.
The first track, ‘Extrovert’ featured more of an upbeat and dance-y sound, whereas the second track ‘Introvert’ was a tempo slower and featured less dance elements. This being said, listening to the two songs one after the other made for an interesting and exciting listen.
As well as this EP, there is also another EP entitled ‘Solar Flare’ on Gradient Echo’s bandcamp page. This EP is equally as brilliant and even features an 8 minute long song, which kept me entertained the whole way through.
