airways will headline soma fest

Airways have made a bold return with bitterness-fuelled release Alien. After a string of tours supporting the likes of The Xcerts and Nothing But Thieves, this new track give us a taste of what’s to come from the Peterborough indie four-piece.

Penned by main songwriter and vocalist Jake Daniels after a trip to the US was cancelled last minute due to tight border-control, this song hits out at the idea of being seen as “undesirable”, creating the scathing and urgent sound we hear today, with ska-inspired verses and a thumping chorus.

Produced by Nothing But Thieves’ Dom Craik, this follow-up to EP “Starting To Spin” is putting Airways firmly on the indie music scene. However, Daniels has no intention of stopping there.

“We’ve got support on the indie circuit so far, but we have no intention of staying in one lane. The whole concept of being in a band seemed pretty impossible when we started. We want it to grow to a place where Airways means an experience, a great night among great people, not just one sound or one way of having fun. It’s still small now, but we have our sights set on much bigger things.”

Already filling out clubs across Europe, Airway’s futures are looking bright – just let them into the country.
