By Adam French released his first track of the year, ‘You From The Rest’, on Friday (23rd March), following the success of his ‘Weightless’ EP late last year.
This soulful track is fuelled by dark guitar undertones pushing feelings of disappointment, despite being continually uplifted by French’s somewhat lighter and more hopeful vocals.
The song shifts between deep, rocky tones towards upbeat and more spirited ones all within a matter of seconds to create feelings of mixed emotion throughout. It takes a more indie-rock vibe than his previous tracks, all whilst managing to maintain a relaxed and chilled feel which is common throughout his tracks.
Compared to previous tracks ‘Weightless’ and ‘The Rat’, it picks up the pace considerably and escalates into a much darker track, stepping away from the delicate and mellow tones emphasised in the past.
Adam French is currently supporting Jacob Banks on his European tour before he commences a headline tour of his own in Spring, amidst festival appearances which include Hit The North, Bushstock, Dot to Dot and Live at Leeds.
