Tessa and Friends creates nostalgic and melodic 80s alt pop-rock

London multi-talented musician Tessa Forrest aka Tessa and Friends releases the shackles of her classical heritage to create 80s inspired alternative rock with the best slices of various genres.

Despite the collaborative name, all of the music and vocals are recorded and produced by Tessa. She instead dedicates her music to her friends and family who have helped her along the way.

New single ‘The Loser Gets Set Free’ is the third single as part of a new series of tracks. With clear references to ABBA in the title, the track is the perfect pick me up track and re-claiming your identity.

Clocking 5 minutes 30 seconds ‘The Loser Gets Set Free’ is luminescent with nostalgia and warmth. Catchy melodies and inspiring poetry touch the deepest strings of your heart whilst the vocal layers are intricate and euphoric.

Speaking on the single, Tessa said: “I wanted to write something empowering about giving up. Being the most stubborn person in the world, I rarely give up, and I think I used to perceive the act of giving up as a sign of weakness until recently.

“I’ve learned there is bravery in giving up, in letting go of something you worked so hard for. There is so much courage, and love, and beauty in this, so I wanted to picture this in a song.”

Tessa and Friends has plenty more hidden up her sleeve so keep your eyes peeled for more nostalgic, 80s inspired pop-rock.
