Darling Darling releases woozy new single ‘Cut To The Chaser’

Beautifully woozy from the get-go, Southampton’s new indie hot-shot Darling Darling has returned with their single ‘Cut To The Chaser’.

Channelling jangly guitars, toe-tapping melodies and nostalgic synths, you are thrown back into a time capsule of pure 60s and 70s grooves. The mastermind, Matt Bisgrove, kicked off his bedroom project earlier this year and has already shown a lot of promise.

Following up on debut single ‘Paint It Sister’, Darling Darling combines indie, electronic and psychedelic sensibilities over sardonic and empathetic vocals.

Talking about the single further, Matt explains, “Have you ever met someone who is a breath of fresh air?

“Someone who is a fresh set of tonic to the mundane and you want it as a chaser to every bad memory you’ve ever had? Well that’s what this song is about.

“That exact moment where you get the buzz of something new. The feel of something new. The taste of something new. And though it may not last forever, it helps you live in the here and now.”

Darling Darling exists somewhere in-between 60s R&B and 70s baroque-pop. They’ve just had their debut radio play on BBC Introducing Solent earlier this month and there’s a lot of excitement surrounding Matt – watch this space.
