XY&O release One More Night (Lemonade) and announce new EP

Cardiff Haze-pop trio XY&O have just released their new single One More Night (Lemonade) and have announced their new EP to be released later this year.

One More Night (Lemonade) draws on a range of first-hand experiences and there is a specific person written into each one it’s about the motives of those who seek out carnal pleasures and the expectations people have.

XY&O (Skip Curtis, Tudor Davies and Nick Kelly) have pulled out the deep and powerful electric pop with female vocals sampled to open the track and a beautiful guitar solo to round off their heavily electronic sound.

The full Powder Rooms EP is about the lives we lead and the marks we leave. It’s about the way we are perceived and the person people want us to be versus the person we really are.

The rest of the EP follows suit with tracks ‘Sky’ and ‘Mesmerised’ – an escapist song, about the desire to find space, psychically and emotionally, and ‘Mesmerised’ is about sheer devotion to another.

Speaking about the EP vocalist Skip Curtis said: “The narrative of the EP is focused on the relationships we have with one another. What we want from one another, what we need from one another and what we expect from one another.

“Our lives are defined by the people we share them with and the context in which we coexist. They are defined not only by the people we are closest with but also by the seemingly insignificant fleeting meetings we have every day. Ships in the night still cause waves.”
