Tom Grennan shares live recording of ‘Wishing on a Star’

It’s not even a week into 2018 and Tom Grennan has already treated us to a new single. This time, a live version of ‘Wishing on a Star’ which was recorded for Annie Mac last month at Maida Vale.

This surprise release from the 20-year-old artist is racking up our excitement for his debut album which is coming on 8th March. The album is one we extremely eager to hear.

On social media, Grennan said: “recording this track LIVE for Annie Mac for BBC Radio 1 was so sick that I wanted to release it”, it seems as though Tom Grennan is as excited to share his music as we are to listen to it.

The new single is a live cover of Rose Royce’s 1977 original, Royce’s track is one which has been covered countless times yet the singer-songwriters is one of the best I have heard. Tom Grennan hasn’t strayed far from the original in his cover, just adding his breathtaking vocals and complimenting them with the brooding aura; which he creates in his tracks is phenomenal.

The singer-songwriter has worked tirelessly over the last 18 months, constantly releasing new music and playing countless live shows. 2017 included Grennan collaborating with Chase and Status as well as Bugzy Malone. It was quite the year for our man from Bedford but we are predicting 2018 will trump this.

Keep listening out for more Tom Grennan and get ready for what will be one of the best debut albums of 2018.

He will be setting off for a UK tour in March and catch him at these venues:

Apostles make rousing and melodic indie pop-rock

Relishing in shimmering indie rock, North-West band Apostles are a bundle of shiny melodic pop and nostalgic summer vibes. Returning with new single ‘Sixteen’ the Wigan-based five-piece is a soaring, button-bright, indie-pop masterpiece aimed to throw you back to those glorious summer days. Harbouring an air of swagger, the song’s twisting riffs and evoking lyrics as the band say it’s “reminiscing over good times with someone when you’re going through a tough patch with that very same person”, its sentiment familiar to many of us, and just another reason why Apostles’ own brand of indie is as resonant as it
