Idle Youth – Camden’s Synth pop and shoegaze

Idle Youth

Camden thoroughbreds Idle Youth share their fifth and final single of the year, ‘Preface’, to mark what has been a very successful year for the band.

Originally set up as a one-man project, the band has now expanded into a cohesive four-piece. Taking inspiration from post-punk, shoegaze and synth pop, Idle Youth still retain the lo-fi production qualities of the previous releases, notably in ‘Gardens’.

It also signals a change in the sound of the band. The song blends dance sensibilities with dream pop, shoegaze and 80s synth pop, serving as the prefect bridging song to take Idle Youth into the new year.

With 2019 closing in, the band plan to release a synth pop single in February, with a string of dates across England to be announced.
