Streets of Roya return with ‘If Only’

Streets of Roya

Enigmatic alt-pop band Streets of Roya are back with a mesmerising new single ‘If Only’ and share details of their debut EP.

Forming in late 2017, Streets of Roya has since released 5 songs including previously featured singles ‘All Eyes On Me’, ‘Prisoner’ and more recently ‘Sleepwalking’.

The latter can also be found on the band’s debut EP ‘A Bad Companion’ alongside new single ‘If Only’. The record isn’t just a random collection of a few songs but rather one story told through different angles and emotions. The struggle between you and your inner self.

‘If Only’ was the last song written for ‘A Bad Companion’ but turned out to be one of the defining songs of the EP. The driven but calm vibe perfectly captures the sound of a hopeful yet desperate and captive mind racing through the valleys of life.

The band explain: “Sometimes it’s a challenge to not get caught up in the regrets of life. wanting to go back in time can be tempting and sometimes your mind is taking you back. For the better or worse.”

Of the EP, Streets of Roya said: “We started working on ‘A Bad Companion’ early 2018 prior to the release of ‘Prisoner’ but it took us almost a year until it felt complete; until we had the first part of the story. The songs won’t provide answers. no solutions. no quick fixes. But it’s a confession to yourself. Acknowledging where you’re at in life. And somehow this is all we can do right now. And it might just be a good start.”

‘A Bad Companion’ is due out on March 15th. Find the tracklist and new single below.
