Song Of The Week: LUCIA – Melted Ice Cream

LUCIA

From busking on the streets of Glasgow, garage rock/pop quartet LUCIA firmly cemented a spot as one of the best new live acts in Scotland. Now the band are Song Of The Week with their latest piece of work ‘Melted Ice Cream’.

The first single of 2018, ‘Melted Ice Cream’ is scuzzy garage-pop with fiery vocals from LUCIA herself and fuzzy guitar riffs with booming harmonies like those from The Ronnettes and Black Honey.

Released on Sony’s Sweet Jane Recordings label, sees the young songstress and her versatile band continue to explore their captivating blend of garage rock and swooning, romanticised pop.

The female-fronted quartet is in for a busy festival season with The Great Escape, Live At Leeds, Sound City and Neverworld already announced, the UK will soon be craving for more from LUCIA.

With ‘Melted Ice Cream’ as the follow up to their debut EP, Best Boy (2017), LUCIA is certainly forging the way forward. The simmering mix of garage-pop and strong 60s vibes, they are an emerging sound for the summer.

No tour dates announced as of yet so stick around and check out the official music video below.
