Song Of The Week: The Dunts – Birds and the Beez

The Dunts

Glasgow “council punk” quartet The Dunts are Song Of The Week with their latest single ‘Birds and the Beez’.

Following up on last years debut EP ‘Not Working Is Class’, the band have let loose with this chaotic and heavy rock fuelled madness.

‘Birds and the Beez’ opens up with a blessing of guitar riffs and bass licks, this track has the potential to be a huge indie club night classic.

Taking influences from the likes of Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, Oasis and Mac Demarco is clear in The Dunts’ work. The band still add their own originality and unique sounds. This is most obvious vocally, ‘Birds And The Beez’ mixes strong lyrics and catchy hooks to ultimately coincide with its instrumental strengths.

The Dunts are a fine example of guitar revival, the single is, without doubt, going to be strong in the live setting. Assuring crowd involvement and expected moshpits, the single is both electrifying and catchy.

Overall, it displays all the qualities of a strong anthem. It is a firm example of The Dunts’ mass potential.
