Walking on Mountains – Sheffield Alt-Rock

walking on mountains

Hailing from the Yorkshire borough of Sheffield, just like so many sensational artists, Walking on Mountains are an alternative rock band who’ve recently caught our attention with their very first single ‘Infiltrator’.

Being only a few months old, often artists don’t seem to have fully found their footing when it comes to a sound, but with this track alone, Walking on Mountains already promise ambient, dynamic synth textures with contemporary, driven guitar riffs and catchy choruses.

‘Infiltrator’ shows us exactly what is to come, you can hear a lot of punk influences in the vocals, however the rest of the song feels very characteristic of the indie-pop genre, in its use of loops and synth pads.

It’s definitely clear to see how some of their key influences have affected some of the choices they’ve made within what they’ve produced, especially elements of massive names such as; Royal Blood, Linkin Park and Sempiternal era Bring Me the Horizon.

This is the first track from Walking on Mountains, and already the future looks exciting as the band grow and expand on their already unique take on the alt-rock genre. I’ll definitely be keeping my ear to the ground to hear what they release next.
