Ones To Watch 2020: Among The Citizens

Since they were discovered in late 2018, the award-winning Among The Citizens are on the ICM Ones To Watch list for 2020.

The Cambridgeshire-based indie pop quartet burst out onto the scene with debut single ‘Mess in the Head’, have matured into one of the most exciting young bands entering the indie/alternative genre within the UK.

They scooped up an NMG Award in 2018 for Breakthrough Act and Best Indie in 2019 so the accolades alone go a long way. The debut EP was released in the Autumn of 2018 featuring ‘Antisocial’, ‘Pretend To Be In Love’ and ‘Fling’, combining classical rumpus indie riffs and floaty-rhythmics and melodic undertones have proved to be a recipe for impending success.

The latest single ‘In Your Car’ (produced by Jon Hucks (Spring King/False Heads) is the band’s most anthemic and purest single to date. We can’t wait to hear more from the up and comers.
