Retro Video Club – Ones To Watch 2019

Retro Video Club

Scottish rockers Retro Video Club have made it onto the Ones To Watch list for 2019 for their high-octane indie bangers.

The Edinburgh quartet is a powerhouse of crunchy guitar riffs and lively drum rhythms that has been making taking Scotland and the north of England by storm.

The latest single, ‘3AM’, is a prime example of the catchy, powerhouse indie tunes that have helped the band amass over a million streams on Spotify. We loved it and so did Modern Age Music who included the Scots as our Song of the Week spot back in October.

A short but sweet power trip from beginning to end, ‘3AM’ combines propulsive percussion with an electrifying guitar line to pack an overall high-octane punch. The band is creating an underlying driving energy throughout. It’s a catchy track from the outset and with Liam’s bold vocals going hand in hand, the song undoubtedly gets stuck in your head – it has for me.

The boys rounded off a special year with three huge shows in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Coarse vocals from lead singer Liam is live performances become a forefront force to be reckoned with. Liam Allison (vocals/rhythm guitar), Sam McGill (lead guitar), Michael Ward – (bass) and Kieran Burt (drums/backing vocals) posted on Facebook before the end of the year that they were in the studio. So you can certainly expect more powerful indie-rock like this in 2019.

Dropping to a simplistic refrain, bursts of tenacious full band instrumentation lead us into the singles final thirty seconds. ‘Chemistry’ is a building pressing air becomes a prominent factor as sparkling riffs and hooks that will leave you wanting more drive the track to a close.
