New Music Alert: SKIES – Afterwards

SKIES

Kent duo SKIES are kicking off 2017 with a new synth-rock charmer ‘Afterwards’.

Off the back of their debut EP ‘If You Feel Like It’, SKIES have gone from strength to strength throughout 2016 and now are looking to carry on their incredible form into 2017.

New single ‘Afterwards’ is a track that has matured a lot compared to their previous single ‘Hold On’. To me, it feels like Alie Cotter & Jericho Tozer have perfected their mesmerising synths with their electrifying guitars and crashing drums.

SKIES show no signs of slowing down as they gear up to release their second EP due very soon giving us the sweet taste of what’s to come.

Having picked up support from Radio 1 DJ’s Huw Stephens’ and Phil Taggart’s, online plaudits throughout the year, the band took to the road with the likes of Clean Cut Kid, Coasts and Get Inuit, delivering a ferocious live show and winning over new fans all over the UK.

Of the track, Alie Cotter (Vocals/guitar) states “It’s a song all about regret, something that I think we can all carry at some point in our lives.”

But if there’s one thing you won’t regret, it’s heading down to a show near you to catch the band live….

SKIES will be touring the UK this Spring to coincide with the new single, supporting The Slow Readers Club and a selection of headline dates, and a massive home town show at 400-capacity Folkestone’s Quarterhouse.
