MAM Song of the Week: Otherkin – ‘On & On’

Otherkin

Irish rock powerhouses Otherkin have just dropped their latest single, in the form of the genre-defying ‘On & On’.

The track is made “for the dance floor” according to the band, and it’s after listening, it’s hard to argue with that.

It’s the third single release of 2019 for the Dublin four-piece, and one which sees them push the boundaries of modern-day guitar music, adding an electronic dance element, laced with catchy keys and a monster riff which stays true to the band’s alt-rock roots.

The band explain: “We were listening to a ton of French House before making ‘On & On’ and felt inspired to make a song for the dance floor. As we were approaching it from the context of being a guitar band, we thought it would be cool to break the song up with a huge riff, bringing the two worlds together.”

The release coincides with the announcement of a run of UK tour dates this Autumn:

19/09 | Hyde Park Book Club, Leeds
20/09 | Riverside 2, Newcastle
22/09 | Nice N Sleazy, Glasgow
23/09 | The Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham
24/09 | Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff
26/09 | Face Bar, Reading
27/09 | Camden Assembly, London
