Jakob Leventhal – forging his own artistic pursuit

Raised in New York City in a family of musicians, Jakob Leventhal has gone on to forge his own artistic pursuit.

The 19-year-old singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer has spent a decade of writing and composing songs. This lead to Jakob’s debut album ‘Oh, So Bittersweet!’ which will be released next month.

The second single taken from that, ‘Neckties and Suicides’ is a story of loneliness, failed relationships, and feeling consumed by the city that you call home. Leventhal asks if everyone else feels just as lonely as he does.

His style of music and storytelling drawn on personal trauma and passionate nights echoing the abilities of Elliot Smith and Andy Shauf, along with sounds like The Beach Boys, the Beatles and Father John Misty.

Jakob currently studies in Chicago where he plays in various jazz and funk bands in the city.

Oh, So Bittersweet! will be available on all streaming services February 13th, 2019. The first two singles from Jakob Leventhal, ‘This Love is Sarcastic’ and ‘Neckties and Suicides’ are both available now.
