INHEAVEN @ The Sugarmill

Stop number 5 on the INHEAVEN tour is to The Sugarmill to celebrate the release of their self-titled debut album which was released last month. Supporting them on this great tour was Liverpudlians Paris Youth Foundation and Irish rockers Otherkin – who also released their debut album ‘OK’ last Friday.

Paris Youth Foundation make a return to The Sugarmill after they supported The Magic Gang back on their UK tour in Spring 2017. Also since then, the five-piece have released a new single ‘Missing The Mark’. Big guitar riffs over the compelling song lyrics as Potter’s melodic voice haunts the listener to fall into his charm, while rhythmic guitar and upbeat drums create an anthemic, yet chilling atmosphere. It seemed like they made another good impression on the crowd so I’m sure they will be back again in the future.

Dublin’s Otherkin have just released their long-awaited debut album last week reaching number two in the Irish charts. With amazing high-octane rock music, they had no problem getting the crowd pumped for INHEAVEN. ‘Treat Me So Bad’ and ‘AY AY’ were big hitters with a couple of mosh pits and one geeza was absolutely loving it. With every attempt that frontman Luke Reilly tried to get the small crowd going he was going absolutely mental. So at the end of their set Reilly decides to jump into the crowd with his guitar and join in the mosh pit to then give his guitar to this lucky lad before heading off stage. One lucky bloke.

INHEAVEN make another return to The Sugarmill for the second time this year, and now with their debut album doing all the talking with its five stars from Dork and four stars from NME and DIY magazines. With pretty roses attached to their mic stands (featured image from previous tour) the band are ready to party, and so was the crowd. We were very lucky that INHEAVEN managed to play the rest of their tour after their van was almost broken into after performing at The Plug in Sheffield. Fortunately, they were unsuccessful but managed to break into someone else’s van and steal £200,000 worth of sound equipment. I think we all know which is worse.

Hit singles ‘Baby’s Alright’ and my favourite tune ‘All There Is’ created a big buzz within the crowd with everyone jumping like crazy, putting a big smile on bassist Chloe’s face. Their heavy guitar riffs, powerful bass licks and pounding drums from latest single ‘Stupid things’ kick off the song and the crowd in an almighty fashion. It was a very enjoyable set from the independent band. They always put on a good show no matter what size the crowd or venue is, and that is why their very humble approach will take them far and wide.
