Future Vintage: Music That’ll Last For Decades!

Hipsters and Indie kids a like love listening to classic tracks. Whoever you might be, we all love a banging old school tune that either fills the dancefloor and gets us singing along. It might be a pretentious ideology? But it’s the stone cold truth. Twenty years from now, 16 to 25 year olds will be looking back at the tracks that their parents listened to in their youths and discovers these awesome bands below.

The 1975 Matt Healy and his wicked pop group ‘The 1975’ have ushered in a whole new fashion era of wearing black and being a Starbucks drinking white girl. Not only have his good looks and soft voice rocked our world, but the bands catchy and dance-like tunes such as ‘Girls’ and ‘Heart Out’ have got us all grooving to the same beat since their arrival. Their 80’s bouncy sounds a twangy riffs are in comparison to some of the greatest 80’s music throughout that entire decade. My prediction? The 1975 will become what The Smiths have become to us indie kids. Kids will fall in love with Matt and his all black, no f**ks given attitude.

Circa Waves Keiran Shudall’s ‘Circa Waves’ have already taken centre stage with a Live Lounge appearance for their debut album ‘Young Chasers’. And they are featuring on the NME Stage at Reading Festival is some achievement and will most likely play at Wembley in two years’ time. Their indie rock tunes, and young boy looks definitely attracts the younger listeners with catchy songs like ‘T-Shirt Weather’ and ‘Fossils’ will be remembered for years to come in the future, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they are even bigger than they are now.

Swiss Lips Uniqueness always stands out in a crowd, and although Swiss Lips are yet to reach the big time, I’m assured they will. When they do, they will be cemented in music history forever. They have only just released their first album, but it is clear that they could go on to compose many more great tracks. One of their songs, ‘Carolyn’ is an upbeat song that is accompanied by a music video that takes me back to drifting red sports cars along the coast, while playing ‘OutRun’ in a retro arcade booth. Another popular song is ‘Honey’ which really sees the lead singer, Sam Hammond stretching his vocal cords to create a groundbreaking track. ‘Books’ is a catchy song that took a while to produce, however when it was finally released we were shown just how the band from Manchester could last a while in the music business.
