Discover: Ten Million Lights – Red Tornado

Ten Million Lights

Portland rockers Ten Million Lights produce fast and loud dreamy psych-pop that’s a little heavy, but all-organic and tasty. Their songs get stuck in your head, in the good way.

Ten Million Lights (10ML) – Ryan, Eric, Russ, Emily and Scott – have been performing together since 2003 but formed 10ML in 2009. The Portland dudes were joined by Emily a year later, adding a different melodic perspective, and with gorgeous vocals.

‘Red Tornado’ is the latest track from the Americans is a bold statement as the band release their second album ‘Sour Oranges’ yesterday (Friday 20).

10ML have ditched the drum machines and opted for more powerful live propulsion. The shimmer and sheen of reverb and delay were dialled down a notch. The touchstones might be familiar, but the pieces fit together in a new, thick and beautiful wash.

You can find 10ML on Facebook and Twitter.
