East Love is an indie rock six-piece hailing from ‘The Big Apple’, New York. The band consists of lead vocalist Lukas Effman, acoustic guitar/bass and vocalists Robbie Fink and Alex Goldstein, electric guitar – Alex Utay, keyboardist Andy Koehler, and drummer David Berliner.
Their single ‘Straight Lines’ has an upbeat melody that is driven by a lively acoustic guitar, producing a more folk feel. The melody progresses into a combination of this same acoustic guitar rhythm, joined by a powerful percussion, bass guitar, and keyboard.
East Love has one main goal, which is to “write and record honest music.” The blend pop influences into their music, yet always keep it grounded real instruments and lots of vocal harmonies. The lyrics involve questioning one’s direction in life and what he/she wants. This uncertainty is captured by the theme “why am I moving in circles when I’m looking for straight lines?”
