Discover: Ded Rabbit – Pressure Pusher

Ded Rabbit

Edinburgh four-piece Ded Rabbit have released their new single ‘Pressure Pusher’.

Originally from Yorkshire, they relocated to the Highlands of Scotland and due to their isolated surroundings and shared love of music formed the band.

The new single, recorded at Rocket Science Studios in Glasgow, sees Ded Rabbit deliver almost perfect indie pop and is without doubt the young quartet’s most vital, ambitious and finest moment to date.

The track is a strong dose of high octane rock ‘n’ roll inspired indie pop about the pressures of everyday life.

After moving to Edinburgh to study, the band recorded some demos and subsequently released their debut ‘Wash Away’ EP almost three years ago.

Ded Rabbit are brothers Eugene (vocals, rhythm guitar), Fergus (lead guitar), Donal (bass) and Eoin Gaine (drums).

Speaking to The Skinny, drummer Eoin Gaine said: “Pressure Pusher is about the internal and external pressures found in everyday life. Naming the track was unusually hard as we had a few different titles going about. It wasn’t until we starting thinking about artwork and the video before we decided on the title.

“It was a pleasure as always using Rocket Science Studios in Glasgow. For this track we did things slightly differently and tracked most of the instruments together live, I think this helped it groove a little more.”

A truly exciting live prospect, Ded Rabbit have a couple of dates to coincide with the new single release.

Live dates:

Nov 06 – The Finsbury Pub, London
Nov 09 – The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen
