Artist Spotlight: Valeras

Valeras

This week’s artist spotlight are a Reading-born five-piece kicking up a storm around the country. Previously going by as Area 52, this week we look at Valeras.

Valeras seem to go from strength to strength. Initially releasing their debut EP ‘Knives and Flowers’ to their most recent single ‘Louder’, Valeras are packed full of catchy hard guitar riffs and beautiful vocals.

‘Knives and Flowers’ gave the band a brilliant jumping off point with tracks like Colour Me, boasting 50,000 plays on Spotify, which shows beautiful the bands style of their indie punk rock with a soft ending.

The latest single ‘Louder’ sets their vibe, a seductive bassline and those beautiful vocals kick in and we’re brought into a track that I’ve almost not stopped playing. Their music is perfect for relaxed rock as well as more fast-paced punkier sounds.

The group have toured with various big names like Demob Happy as support acts as well as becoming a known name in their own right both in Reading and London and are fantastic live.

Not only are they doing their own shows and support slots, but the band regularly put on Valeras Presents. A show which they headline showcasing smaller bands.
