Artist Spotlight – Splashh

Splashh

This week’s Artist Spotlight comes from East London, Splashh. The indie rock quartet includes; Sasha Carlson, Toto Vivian, Tom Beal, and Jaie Gonzalez.

Although formed in London, none of the band are from the city. Carlson is from Auckland, New Zealand, Vivian born in Italy and raised in Byron Bay, Australia, Beal from Shifnal, Shropshire and Gonzalez from Australia. But seen to spend majority of their time in the states and London.

The band went on to produce their debut album ‘Comfort’ in 2013 which was a big hitter when released in America giving the guys a great international presence.

Their new album, ‘Waiting A Lifetime’ is due for release in April and can expect some scuzz pop with a slacker edge. The riffs are righteous and the vocals are stone cold, a raw mixture of old and new for fans to feast on.
In a statement the band said; “We had been sitting with the demos for 3 years, so we had an idea of what we thought the album should sound like.
“When we went into the studio with Nicolas, we started fresh and tore the songs apart. It was a lot of fun to experiment and take it as far as we could. It was liberating.”
