Easy Life

2018 Ones To Watch #2 – Easy Life

Easy Life. Underrated, unappreciated, undiscovered.

The five talented Leicester lads have had a great year touring the country, bagging those festival appearances and gaining well-earned recognition from not only fans, but the industry.

With the likes of Dork, BBC Introducing and of course, IndieCentralMusic backing them, they are destined to make waves in music scenes all across the country in the next year.

With an established repertoire of songs, clearly evident from witnessing their live performances in 2017, it is a shame that Easy Life have only released one song online.

‘Pockets’, their debut release, showcases Easy Life in an superb way. The vocal melodies, the multi-instrumentalism, funky-jazz, groovy and smooth tones throughout compliment each other exquisitely.

Speaking of the track, Easy Life said that it’s a “93 BPM head-nodder born out of the need to give a middle finger to those people who don’t believe in simplicity and are only concerned with material wealth and all other vices that have made modern living that little bit less sweet.”

“It essentially documents that terrible sinking feeling of realising you can’t quite afford to pay this month’s rent due to your own stupidity; an unsettling emotion that is unshakable, too familiar and hangs over us like a dead albatross.”

Although ‘Pockets’ is an amazing track to release as a debut, it still doesn’t do Easy Life justice. You can stream the track as many times as you want and nod your head in agreement to their talents, but, the real beauty of Easy Life is the the moment they make every single hair on your body stand on edge in anticipation. Excitement. Sheer awe as the echoing sounds of a brass, percussion or electric instrument rattle through the venue creating something entirely bewildering to all your previous expectations.

That is when you become a fan of Easy Life. If not? Music just, isn’t for you.

Easy Life’s live dates start off short but sweet in 2018.
