2018 Ones To Watch #6 – Fickle Friends

Fickle Friends

Fickle Friends made quite a splash in 2017, releasing their second EP ‘Glue’ and embarking on a tour to celebrate. As a result, the band has definitely increased in popularity, gaining fans from all over the world. 2018 is sure to be a big year for the band, releasing their debut album ‘You Are Someone Else’ in March.

The band, originally from Brighton, formed in 2013 and is made up of Natassja Shiner (vocals and keyboard), Harry Herrington (bass and backing vocals), Chris Hall (lead guitar) and Jack Wilson (keyboard). The band have had to work incredibly hard to reach the point at which they are currently at. Towards the end of 2015, the band were struggling to fund all that was needed and they no longer had a manager for support; now they are signed to record label ‘Polydor Records’ and are rapidly on the rise.

The band’s sound could be classed as indie pop, with upbeat guitar rhythms and keyboard melodies. The band has added a lot of electronic and synth sounds to the songs; they have struck the perfect balance of sounds so as not to overdo any single element. These songs could easily become a big part of a summer playlist.

Fickle Friends were nominated for ICM’s Track Of The Year 2017! Find the winners here.
